Founded in 1999, Bio-Scaffold International Pte Ltd (BSI) initiated R&D efforts in collaboration with SIMTech on the technology development for scaffolds to be applied in Guided Tissue Engineering. Funded by Spring Singapore under the Local Enterprise Technical Assistance Scheme, the partnership resulted in a revolutionary technology for bio-scaffold processing. A joint patent with A*STAR was filed, and porous bio-scaffolds, Bioscaff, were developed using the technology.
